Islanders,

As you may be aware, the Town of Bracebridge and the District of Muskoka have made plans to remove household garbage and recycling bins from local marinas. Over the past few seasons, Muskoka Dockside has been providing a convenient weekly garbage and recycling pickup service for a number of island residents in preparation for these changes.

We are excited to offer our reliable and efficient weekly household garbage and recycling pickup service, which includes a visit to your dock each week to collect your household waste and then barge it away for proper disposal.

We have carefully tested this service over the past few seasons to ensure its effectiveness and have obtained all necessary environmental compliance approvals for transporting household waste to the appropriate landfill sites.

Details of the pickup are below:

• Pickup Dates: May 21- Oct 15

• Pickup days will be on Mondays except in which case a holiday falls on a Monday (e.g., Canada Day), then pickup will be on the Tuesday to follow

• Email for inquires

• Garbage includes any household waste

• Recycling includes plastics, glass, aluminum, paper, and cardboard

• Household Garbage and Recycling must be bagged

• Bag limits are set at 5 total per week (Email with any inquiries about this)

• Pickup location must be the same every week and be in an animal proof location such as a bear bin, sealed container, etc.
